Islamic month Ramadan is on 9th position in the Islamic calendar, it was the holy month when the holy Quran was fully revealed to the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Islam has five pillars and fasting in this holy month is among them. Fasting begins from sunrise to sunset. As claimed by the teachings of Islam, it was the month when the Holy Quran was sent down to the lowest heaven, for revelation by Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S) to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) told all Muslims that Ramadan is the holy month when the doors of heaven are being opened and the doors of hell are closed. This holy month ends with three days celebration which is called Eid Al Fitr.

Significant Events and Dates of the Holy Month Ramadan

 

Ramadan 1st: This is the Birth Date of Abdul Qadir Gillani (RA).

Ramadan 2nd: Torah was revealed to Hazrat Musa (AS).

Ramadan 10th: First wife of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA) died.

Ramadan 12th: Injil was revealed onto Hazrat Isa (AS).

Ramadan 15th: This is the Birth of Hasan Ibn Ali (RA).

Ramadan 17th: Death of Hazrat Ayesha Bint Abu Bakar (Wife of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad PBUH).

Ramadan 17th: Death of Ruqayyah (RA), daughter of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), and Khadija (RA).

Ramadan 17th: This day Muslims won the Battle of Badr.

Ramadan 18th: Zabur (Psalms) was revealed on Hazrat Dawood (AS).

Ramadan 19th: Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA) was attacked by the sword.

Ramadan 20th: Conquest of Makkah by Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Ramadan 21st: Death of Ali Ibn Ibi Talib (RA) after he stumbled to injuries he sustained by sword attack.
