
Eid ul Adha And Its Significance in Islam
In Islam, Muslims celebrate two Eids in a year. The one is Eid-ul-Fitr which is celebrating after the sacred month of Ramadan and the second one is Eid-ul-Adha in the month of Zill Hajj. The Ummah of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) celebrates these occasions with great spirits. During Eid of Adha, they remember the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and His son Hazrat Ismail (A.S) in a submission to Almighty Allah. A few days before Eid, Muslims perform Hajj and people come from each corner of the world.
Meanings The Word of Eid and Adha
The word Eid means to celebrate something special that has importance in Islam.
The word “Adha” means to sacrifice and Muslims on this event sacrifice animals such as
- Buffalo
- Camel
- Cow
- Goat
- Sheep
The Eid-ul-Adha also called greater eid. The three days of Zill Hajj 10th, 11th, and 12th when Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha and spend these days as per Sunnah just for the sake of Almighty Allah. But the Muslims celebrate the event of Eid-ul-Adha on the 10th of Zill Hajj which is considered the most important day in the religion Islam.
Significance of Eid ul Adha
The Qurbani meat normally distributed into poor peoples. The key purpose of Qurbani is that the needy and poor people who can’t afford and didn’t eat meat throughout the year, through this holy event they can easily taste it. The Qurbani meat divided into three parts,
- 1/3 is Eaten by Instant Family
- 1/3 is for the Neighbors
- 1/3 is Given to the Needy and Poor
Qurbani represents our preparedness to give up things that are of benefit to us or adjacent to our cores, in order to follow the instructions of Allah.
So, if you’re financially stable and can afford Hajj worship then perform Hajj and perform Qurbani for the sake of Almighty Allah. Undoubtedly, He will forgive your sins and give you more advantages. Do your duty when Allah gives you time. May Allah accept our Qurbani as well as Hajj that we do for the sake of Almighty Allah.
