
Know All About Qurbani And Its Rules in Islam
The word “Udhiyah” in the Arabic language which is used for Qurbani. It is the religious ritual that Muslims perform it each year after Hajj on the occasion of Eid ul Adha. But if the person is financially strong then it is mandatory for him to perform Qurbani for the sake of Almighty Allah.
The Meaning of Qurbani
The time when we perform Qurbani, we don’t forget Allah’s rewards and blessings that He has given us. There are numerous worthiness and benediction in the ceremonial of Qurbani. Basically, Qurbani means to sacrifice the animals just to have the blessings of Almighty Allah. Qurbani takes place on 10th of ZillHajj after offering the Eid prayer mainly and two days following it. The Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“Therefore, turn in a plea to your Almighty Allah and sacrifice (to Him only).” (Al-Quran: 108:2)
As we all know that it is religious worship so one should give attentive consideration when performing it. We have to conduct it rightly and as per the rules of Islamic Qurbani. Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“Say (O, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)), ‘Verily, my plea, my Qurbani, my living, and my dying are for Almighty Allah, the Allah of the Alameen (manhood, jinn and all that be present).” (Al-Quran: 6:162)
Important Rules for Qurbani Ceremonial
Check out some vital tips which are recommended to consider during Qurbani,
- 10th to 12th of Zill Hajj are the dates Qurbani must be performed.
- It should be one buffalo, camel, cattle, cow, goats, and sheep, etc.
- A person who is financially stable to pay Zakat must perform a ceremonial of Qurbani
- Animals for Qurbani should be free of any sort of injuries
- During Qurbani at the time of slaughter, an animal should be alive
- The person who is performing Qurbani should be a Muslim
- At the time of slaughter, the animal shouldn’t be hungry
- Slaughtered animals until fully cold, are not to be skinned
- After Slaughtered animal, divide its meat into three categories (family, friends and poors)
After offering the Hajj worships, pilgrims sacrifice animals like buffalo, camel, cattle, cow, goats, and sheep, etc. These animals are allowed to sacrifice as per Islamic Sharia. Qurbani is the holy worship in Islam and Muslims who are financially strong and can afford it must perform to attain all-out blessings by Almighty Allah. Qurbani isn’t mandatory on every Muslims but who has enough savings and resources then the person is eligible for Qurbani.
